Canadian Designated Drivers Sponsorship of Barrie Micro-works Curling Bonspiel A Success
(BARRIE, ON – October 31, 2011) – Canadian Designated Drivers are glad to announce that the Barrie Micro-works Bonspiel was a success and are happy to have been a sponsor for the second straight year.
The Micro-works Curling League has been running for over thirty-five years and is a competitive curling league which brings the top teams from Barrie and the surrounding area, including Alliston, Orillia, Bradford and Stroud, even as far as Toronto. The league also features many provincial, national and world champions.
The Barrie Micro-works Bonspiel games were played at the Barrie Curling Club on Essa Road on October 13th to October 16th. The tournament had over twenty thousand dollars in cash prizes awarded to the winning teams in the Men’s and Women’s Draws. The event had a full women’s draw and 31 men’s curling teams competing for the cash prizes. The curling started in the evening of October 13th with the winners being announced in the late afternoon of October 16th.
Canadian Designated Drivers sponsorship of the Bonspiel ensured that participants had a safe alternative to getting you home after the day’s events. Mike Verhoog, Co-owner of Canadian Designated Drivers states, “We love being able to help support Barrie’s growth by sponsoring an event like the Micro-works Bonspiel, and we also believe in celebrating a win or having a great time with your teammates. However getting home safely should be your main priority and that is where we can help”.
With the success of this year’s Micro-works Barrie Bonspiel Canadian Designated Drivers are happy to have been a proud sponsor of this wonderful community event. In addition to the sponsorship of the Barrie Micro-works Bonspiel Canadian Designated Drivers will also be running a feature ad campaign in the Barrie Advance that supports Royal Victoria Hospitals Cancer for kids BEAR ad campaign.
